Our Paint Correction Process

No two vehicles are the same, which is why we don't follow a one-size-fits-all polishing process.

Every paint correction begins with a thorough assessment of your vehicle. We inspect the paint under specialised lighting, identify defects, and carry out test sections to determine the safest and most effective combination of machine, polish, pad and technique before correcting the rest of the vehicle.

Some vehicles have extremely hard clear coats that require a more aggressive approach, while others have softer or thinner paint that demands a far more delicate process. Age, previous repairs, paint thickness, colour, oxidation, swirl marks and scratch severity all influence how we approach each job

Depending on the vehicle and the finish we're chasing, we may use:

- Hand polishing for delicate areas and intricate trim.

- Dual Action (DA) polishers for safe, controlled defect removal and exceptional finishing.

- Rotary polishers where greater cutting power is required on heavily damaged paint.

We regularly switch between different compounds, finishing polishes and polishing pads throughout the correction process to achieve the best possible result while preserving as much clear coat as possible.

At Fully Detailed we use professional-grade products and equipment from trusted manufacturers including Meguiar's, along with premium foam and microfibre polishing pads designed for different paint systems. Professional paint correction is about far more than simply polishing a car—it's understanding how different paint systems respond and selecting the right method for every individual panel.

The result is a safer, more consistent correction that restores gloss, improves clarity and removes defects without taking unnecessary risks with your vehicle's paintwork.
